About Us

Hey there! I’m Desiree, the founder of Serenity Weddings. I love weddings. I love love. And most of all, I love couples who just want to celebrate their love at their wedding.

I’ve been working in the wedding industry since 2018 when I started as a bridal stylist in the PNW. When I told my mom about my new job, she just said “Yeah, that makes sense.” I have always loved weddings. As a kid growing up in Southern California, all my favorite movies were centered around weddings, and when I would play pretend I was Mary from “The Wedding Planner”. In high school I would put on “Say Yes to the Dress” marathons whenever I could, even if I had already seen all the episodes, much to my family’s dismay. So it only made sense that I would end up finding a career in weddings, and once I found it, I was in love.

I was living in Seattle at the time, having moved there after college to manage a collision repair shop. After working with cars and men for a few years, working in bridal was a breath of fresh air, and I couldn’t get enough. This career change brought me back to Los Angeles so that I could grow in the bridal industry and work with some of the best designers in the world. I’ve been lucky enough to work hand in hand with some of the most creative and innovative designers and stylists, build a career, and meet some of the most wonderful people along the way.

One day, a bride recognized my ability to keep calm under pressure, problem solve, and keep the overall vision of the day at the center of every detail, and she asked me to coordinate her wedding. A dear friend of mine was also the florist, so it was the perfect fit. I was nervous, but agreed, and am so glad I did. Thanks to her, I found a new passion in weddings in a way I never expected. Sure, things went wrong, they always do, but that’s why I was there. When the glass seating chart broke in transit to the venue, I created a placard station for guests to find their seats. When there wasn’t a honeymoon fund box, I was there to make one of leftover materials. And when the arch was used as a jungle gym and toppled into the sweetheart table right before the grand entrance, I was there to lift it, fix it, and re-decorate the table just in time. Every single friend and family member got to enjoy the night without worry, and the bride and groom never even knew anything went wrong! I knew I had found what I am meant to do, and Serenity Weddings was born.

I thought that would be the craziest wedding I would ever work, that no other wedding would ever have more things go wrong in the night. In truth, most weddings don’t have that many problems, but none are ever perfect. And occasionally, weddings are planned on the Santa Monica beach on the day of the Hurricane Hilary, and everything needs to get replanned two days before and moved up a day to avoid the storm, giving you 24 hours to build a wedding from scratch. No matter what, it’s good to have someone in your corner ready to problem solve and make sure that no matter what, your wedding is a reflection of you.

Today we continue to offer services as wedding coordinators as the backbone of Serenity Weddings. We will always advocate for couples who want to plan their own wedding to fit their unique vision that represents their love for each other. We also offer partial planning services for the couples who need a bit more help but aren’t in need of a full planning services. Also, we’ve gone back to our wedding roots in bridal styling, and now offer styling services ranging from the day-of to full-service bridal styling, as well as mothers-of and bridal party styling.

I can’t wait to help you bring your vision to life!
